                        Goldman

Ensemble

The Goldman Ensemble is an exciting, young and talented new performing group delighting audiences with their technique, exquisite tone, innate musicality and joie de vivre. The Ensemble is made up of three sisters: Gavriella (horn), Tirzah (cello) and Ortal (violin) and are frequently joined by other exceptional musicians to perform a wide, varied and flexible repertoire.

The members of the Goldman Ensemble have been recognized by internationally renowned musicians for their fresh, daring, imaginative and confident performances.

Amongst them they have won numerous awards and scholarships, including the Nelly Apt Opera and Singers Trust Award (won twice), one of the most prestigious prizes awarded in Australia, the South African Federation Scholarships (won by all members, a number of times) and the Sir Jack and Lady Lyons Millennium Scholarship. All three sisters were members of the SBS Radio and Television Youth Orchestra in Australia.

In 2005 the Goldman Ensemble released its debut CD, Members of the Goldman Ensemble in Concert, accompanied by Sergey Rybin (piano). It was recorded at the Wigmore Hall.

The Goldman Ensemble has performed throughout the United Kingdom and Israel, at such venues as Winchester Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall at the University of York and the Targ Auditorium at the Tel Aviv University. In 2006 they were chosen to perform a special concert in memory of the victims of the London Bombings at St  Martin-in-the-Fields for the first anniversary of the tragedy. They have been invited for a return performance in 2008.  The Ensemble’s members have also played in concerts jointly with members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Goldman Ensemble were chosen for the City Showcase 2007, London's premier showcasing festival. As part of the festival they took part in two events, at the Classical Showcase concert at St Giles-in-the-Fields and promoting their CD at Virgin Megastore in Piccadilly.
